Xanth
Xanth is a fantasy world written by Piers Anthony. His writing style is a little different than other authors in the fantasy genre. He extensively uses puns for comedic effect. What is interesting is the name Xanth itself is a pun by combining the last part of the author's first name and the first part of the author's last name (Pier-XANTH-ony) although the author claims it to be unintentional. Originally the world of Xanth was intended as a trilogy but after the success of the first three books, the author decided to expand the series to nine books. Fans then persuaded the author to continue writing the series with the 32nd book being published in October 2008.
