
At sunset June 28, 2007 the CN Tower was changed to show a display by Canadian company Color Kinetics. Done in time for the Canada Day Celebration (July 1st), Toronto's nighttime skyline will never be the same.
The photos above show the contrast between a daytime and nighttime tower. If you are ever in Toronto, there are a few excellent spots for viewing. My favorite is Riverdale park, just east of the downtown. The view is unobstructed by buildings and the park provides a nice setting for an evening view including some benches if you wish to stay a while.
The default colors are to be Red and White and apparently will change for special events and holidays. I was told for Toronto's Gay Pride celebrations the colors representing the gay pride flag were used. I was in Montreal at the time and haven't found any pictures of this but I am sure it was nice to look at.
